INFINITY
2021
Mixed media collage
In the end the final form rises before the golden sun, powerful and mighty. Clear, decisive, justified and infinitely furious.

This photograph is sliced, rotated, and woven into a geometric labyrinth. The piece is backlit and provides a warm inviting glow. Viewers are drawn into this ambiguous puzzle with blue and green shades of light and shadow intensifying to create a glowing static atmosphere which invites the viewer to pause and spend time in the glow of its moment.

DEAD ATOM SHORE
2023
Mixed media collage
This piece was a continuation of my journey into epic large scale resin mixed media paintings that depict the 12 universal human experiences:
Birth and Childhood, Relationships, Emotions, Suffering and Challenges, Aging, Death, Quest for Meaning, Creativity and Expression, Learning and Education, Cultural and Spiritual Beliefs, Striving for Improvement, Survival Instinct.
Each piece has a particular focus on a unique human experience. My previous piece ‘The Final Dance’ looked into the subject of Relationships where I depicted “Relationships”. With this piece “DEAD ATOM SHORE” I wanted to depict Birth, Childhood and Aging. Central to the piece is the Mother, both our human mother and an embodiment of the universe itself. Calm, stoic, wise, in control, all knowing and powerful. Before her are the events and theatre of humanity. In her presence the events seem trivial and unimportant. But to the characters existing in the painting there is drama, tragedy and comedies.
The painting contains many cryptic visual riddles, placed there for the viewer to untangle.
Some interesting character's to note:
- At the bottom right is a collage of a young boy and on the bottom left there is an old man. There is a very literal journey of life flying through this piece. The piece depicts the coming of age of a boy, with corrupting entities surrounding and enticing him.
- At the foot of the painting there are hundreds of identical white men dressed in flamboyant aztec outfits who depict the toxic masculinity present in our world, an ever alluring draw for young men
- Also present is a woman declaring that “Earth is doomed!” a flamboyant satire-like declaration of how our lives are constantly interrupted to inform us of how bad the world is and that death is imminent, always shortly followed by a flood of advertisements and political agenda’s. We are much more useful when we are scared
Embrace/Collapse
2023
Mixed media sculpture
A man holds a woman in a loving embrace. She is spikey and covered in a sharp lavish crystal head dress and is dangerously close to cutting the man. The headdress is falling, almost as if the sharp tough armour is falling aside to allow the embrace.
In this piece a poignant scene unfolds—a man and a woman locked in a tender, yet perilous, embrace. The woman, adorned in a crystal headdress, exudes an air of elegance and danger simultaneously.
The striking contrast between her sharp, spiky adornment and the vulnerability of the embrace is a central motif. The elaborate headpiece, adorned with crystals, serves as both armour and ornament, suggesting a protective shield that has veiled her true self.
As the couple's embrace deepens, the headdress appears to be crumbling and falling directly onto the gallery floor, its once-impenetrable facade now in the process of falling away. This visual metaphor captures the transformative power of love. The tough exterior that once shielded her heart is now yielding to the warmth and intimacy of the moment.
The artwork masterfully conveys the paradox of love—how it has the capacity to disarm even the most guarded souls, allowing for vulnerability and connection to emerge from beneath the most formidable facades. The delicate interplay of sharpness and tenderness, danger and affection, makes this composition a mesmerising exploration of the complexities of human emotions and relationships.
